Kathleen Hackett

Kathleen Hackett earned a master of science in nursing degree from CSU in 2017. She has been a nurse for more than 30 years, with 20 years of emergency room experience, and has been affiliated with University Hospitals since 1997. For the past seven years, she has been the Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program coordinator for Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.

A registered nurse who is nationally certified through the International Association of Forensic Nurses, her work focuses on child abuse, particularly child victims of sexual abuse who must testify in court. Through her involvement with the Collaborative to End Human Trafficking she promotes public awareness for children who have been exploited.

The Avon Lake resident is a guest speaker for CSU undergraduate nursing courses and serves as a preceptor for CSU master’s candidates in the forensic nursing track.
