Viking Volunteers

VIKE-2-VIKE

This is a new initiative on campus that pairs CSU students with CSU alumni for professional development experiences such as resume review, informational interviews, lunch-time networking, and job shadowing.

Currently volunteers are needed for the following events and activities:

September 26: Resume RX (9-12 PM or 1-4 PM)

Remember your first resume? Alumni with an interest in career development have the opportunity to partner with the Career Success Network in helping prepare students for the CSU Career Fairs by providing a resume critique and constructive feedback. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to network with fellow alumni professionals.September

September 27: What The Fork (4-6 PM)

Dining and business etiquette can be intimidating for anyone, but particularly for students entering the work force. Alumni will have the opportunity to get a refresher on dining etiquette during this event and will then help students practice their skills during a networking reception.

September 29: Mock Interview Day  (9-12 PM or 1-4 PM)

Informational interviews are powerful learning experiences for students as they explore career options and plan for a job search. Consider joining “the network” and sharing your career experience with students who are interested in the work that you do.

Almost Alumni Dinner (5:30-7:30 PM)

Almost Alumni Dinners provide current students the opportunity to network with alumni while discussing a topic related to their life after graduation. We would like alumni to act as table hosts – guiding the table conversation and ensuring that everyone enjoys some warm Viking hospitality.
