The CSU Alumni Association and 1964 Society are hosting a series of events called Ready. Set. Pro! to help students prepare for the world of work and life after CSU. Join us for one or all of the events and gain insight from CSU alumni and friends. Check back for upcoming event dates or contact email@example.com for more information.
At these dinners, you'll have the unique opportunity to network with alumni over a three course meal while discussing various topics that relate to life after graduation.
At these presentations, we'll help you navigate the sometimes overwhelming world of personal finances. Topics will include student loans, housing loans, budgeting, savings accounts, credit and identity theft, and more.
Join the 1964 Society in celebration of the soon-to-be grads as they countdown to commencement! It’s hard to believe how quickly these past years have gone by, but you are finally in the homestretch. We will be celebrating with an inflatable slide, sweet treats, and more! Come mingle with fellow graduating seniors, pick up your Graduation Kit from the CSU Alumni Association, and celebrate the end of the semester!
MOCK INTERVIEW DAY
Do you know how to talk about your strengths and answer those challenging, behavior-based questions? Do you know why you should wear a watch, how to polish your shoes, or ask questions at the appropriate time, demonstrating your interest in the job? Cleveland State’s mock interview day allows you to get real-life interview experience in a safe, practice setting with employers that you want to meet! Please contact Career Services if you’re interested in this event: firstname.lastname@example.org
GET YOUR "SHIP" TOGETHER
Ditch the yoga pants and hoodies - it’s time to enter the business world. During this session, you’ll learn how to dress for success and create business cards so you’re ready to network with the best of the best and nail that interview.
“Don’t sweat the small stuff” is sage advice for handling many situations in life. But you can safely toss that adage out the window when it comes time to writing or updating your resume. That’s because every single word counts. Come to Career Services to get critical feedback on your resume and “elevator pitch” from area employers. Please bring a hard copy with you (we are not able to print out a copy for you).
WHAT THE FORK
Dining and business etiquette can be intimidating, but this program is here to help you gain valuable skills that will ensure you make a positive first impression. After the etiquette lesson you’ll have the opportunity to practice your new found etiquette during a networking reception with alumni.
This panel discussion provides a forum for current students to gain insights on life as a professional from successful young alumni who have recently been in their shoes.
There are many alumni and individuals who contribute to the university financially. It is important to thank donors to the university, and that is exactly what you can do at this event! Students will be able to write a postcard to a donor, thank a donor via social media, and enjoy some free snacks and refreshments to celebrate this day of thanking and giving!
