Top five ways to celebrate Homecoming, October 4-9 September 28, 2021

We're hoping to see you on campus, but even if you can't make it here, bring the party where you are...Viking style.

In August, we started seeing faces — well, the top halves of faces — we hadn’t seen in person in over a year. And what a sight to behold. It meant that our lives were slowly shedding those heavy pandemic vibes. Though we’re not fully in the clear — and who knows if life will ever be “normal” again — we’re safely welcoming visitors back to campus. That means Homecoming this year will, again, look a bit different from years past for our alumni. But that doesn’t mean you can’t engage in celebrating your alma mater. Here are five ways to hail the Green and White. #CLEStateHOCO

  1. Stop by campus during Homecoming week, October 4-9. We’ll be happy to see you. CSU’s volleyball team will take on Green Bay and Milwaukee on Thursday and Friday, respectively. Or you can catch the Homecoming parade on Friday. Or take a campus tour. Or visit the bookstore. Alumni get a special discount next week. Find out more details at www.csuhomecoming.com.
  2. Host your own class gathering (safely, of course). If there’s one benefit to having been locked away, we learned how technology can connect us from afar. That means even if your former classmates are miles away, there are many options to virtually meet. And if you are close to fellow Vikings, find a bar, restaurant, park or sporting event to spend some time together in honor of your time at CSU. Send us pictures if you do to alumassoc@csuohio.edu or share on social. #CLEStateHOCO
  3. Give to CSU. A little can go a long way here. We’re grateful for any amount that you can give, but it’s the sentiment behind your generosity that resonates with our community. We’ve heard time and time again how our students are encouraged to know there’s a community around them, cheering them on, believing in them. That’s what your gifts mean. And Homecoming’s a great time to show that support. Give here.
  4. Get your green on and wear your spirit on Wednesday, October 6 with your best CSU-themed outfit. Snap a photo, share it on social with the hashtags #CSUGreenOnDay and #CLEStateHOCO, and you could win a Viking swag pack.
  5. Share your favorite campus memories on social. We’ve heard some great stories through the years. Some made us laugh. Others made our hearts swell. And we can’t forget those OMG moments. Tag us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or email us at alumassoc@csuohio.edu with your recollections of CSU days gone by. And send/post your old photos!
