Although the Career Services Center has rebranded its office, now the Office of Career Development and Exploration, new director Brittany Wampler emphasizes that alumni are truly Vikes for life and will continue to have access to lifelong resources for career development.

As part of the CSU 2.0 initiative, the Career Services Center has been rebranded as the Office of Career Development and Exploration. Its goal is to continue to aid students to grow their skills and steady their career paths.

“In rebranding, we will be focused on the development of skills (communication, critical thinking, technology, diversity, equity, inclusion, leadership, professionalism, self-awareness, teamwork) related to success as future professionals enter the workforce or graduate and enter professional pathways,” said director Brittany Wampler.

“Our office will go beyond from what may have looked like an extra service into a dynamic support system for students, faculty, and our region’s employers.”

Wampler stresses that, as always, these services are extended to alumni as well.

“Alumni are our biggest network of professionals, and we support alumni whenever they want to reconnect with us.”

All alumni are welcome to utilize the services provided by the Office of Career Development and Exploration, including Handshake, the office’s job search engine that allows users to view and connect with hiring employers locally, regionally, and nationally.

"Our Career Specialists are available, our online resources are available, and we would love to help you level up in whatever way we can. While this was always the case, and we have always been available to our alumni, I hope this makes it clear. We are here for you.”

Wampler encourages alumni to stay active and engaged through the office, even those who have already reached success in their careers.

“For alumni that are ready to start giving back, there are a lot of opportunities: hiring students for internships, volunteering to help mentor students as a point of contact, coming in to speak about your company and career path since your time at CSU and more. If your employer has positions to post, we would love to connect."

“Our motto, Hire a Vike, is lifelong and we are here as a support system wherever you are in your career journey. For alumni that want to support other Vikings, we are a great space to connect to, along with our Alumni Association and staff!”
