Wayne Zachary, BA anthropology ’73, is an internationally recognized pioneer in technology for computational modeling and simulation of individual and organizational behavior and cognition. He developed and patented intelligent agent development tools, and used those tools to create advanced products for multiple industries, including healthcare, defense/aerospace, and pharmaceuticals. He also led the creation of groundbreaking social media-based intelligence systems for the United States military.
Dr. Zachary is the chief executive officer of Starship Health Technologies LLC, leading strategic direction of the company and overseeing all technology design and development activities. The Pennsylvania-based company works to improve healthcare outcomes and wellness through science, technology and engineering.
For more than 20 years he was the chief executive officer of award-winning CHI Systems, Inc., a company which he founded. Under his leadership, CHI Systems served an elite customer base in the high technology and advanced R&D industries with offices across the nation. He remains active in the research and technology communities, with more than 90 publications in technical journals and monographs.
Dr. Zachary holds a Ph.D. in cognitive anthropology and master’s degrees in computer science and anthropology, all from Temple University. He and his wife live in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, outside of Philadelphia.
