Kristine M. Gill

School of Nursing

Dr. Kristine Gill is an associate professor emerita of nursing at The University of Akron, where she taught for 32 years before retiring in 2008. She also taught at Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine, Kent State University and Jane Addams School of Practical Nursing.

Dr. Gill is a board member and past president of the Summit County Health Department, a volunteer on two medical/surgical units at Summa Akron City Hospital, and a volunteer in the education department at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, where she developed and teaches a nursing/holistic health continuing education class.

A founding member of the Visiting Committee for CSU’s School of Nursing, she and her husband, Richard, established an endowed scholarship for nursing students.

In addition to her 1978 master’s degree in vocational and higher education from CSU, she also earned a teaching certificate in practical nursing. She holds a master’s degree in family health nursing and a Ph.D. in education, both from The University of Akron. She lives in Cuyahoga Falls.
