Mark M. Polatajko

Dr. Mark Polatajko joined Kent State University in January 2016 as senior vice president for finance and administration. He is responsible for budget, business and administration services, compliance and risk management, facilities planning and operations, accounting and financial reporting, human resources, internal audit, information technology services, and public safety.

Dr. Polatajko has over 16 years of senior fiscal management experience. Prior to coming to Kent State, he served for four years as vice president for business and fiscal affairs and treasurer at Wright State University. He also served as vice president of the administration and finance division of Cuyahoga Community College, deputy director of finance for the Ohio Lottery Commission, and has five years of public accounting experience with Ciuni & Panichi, Inc.

A certified public accountant, he earned a Ph.D. in urban education in 2011 from Cleveland State University, specializing in leadership and lifelong learning.

He resides in Hinckley Township with his alumna wife Teresa, BA ’96, and their three children.
