Currently serving as treasurer, Kevin Bales (BBA ’06) first joined the CSUAA Board in 2016.

Why did you choose to join the CSUAA Board?

“A good friend from my undergrad days worked for the Alumni Association and convinced me to join the board. My family also has a long lineage at CSU. My father and two brothers have degrees from CSU. My wife also an alumnus. I thought it was a good way to stay connected to the university.”

 What is your favorite CSU memory?

“My favorite memory is a prank organized by my Fraternity, Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE). We wrote TKE on a thousand ping pong balls and dumped them off the third floor of the old student center I5 (the Cage) during common hour. I still remember the sound of a thousand ping pong balls bouncing off the floor. Good times. “

 Favorite CSU hangout?

“My favorite hangout was Panini’s in the basement of the old student center (the Cage). My favorite off campus hangout was Becky’s on East 18th Street.”

Who was your favorite CSU professor and what was your favorite CSU class?        

“Professor Webb taught real estate, but also had us read “The Millionaire Next Door” which taught me valuable lessons personally.”

 What is your favorite thing to do in Cleveland?

“Cleveland Sports!”

 What is your favorite Cleveland restaurant?

“My favorite Cleveland restaurant is Trattoria in little Italy. My favorite hidden gem is Pho Thang Café by the Cathedral downtown.”

 Do you enjoy any particular activities or have any hobbies?

“I am a frequent but bad golfer. I also enjoy IPAs and bourbon, which could be why I am bad at golf.
